Are your PCB in an Array?
Recomendations for Arraying
RECOMMENDATIONS for Arraying.
Reading this could help you reduce your costs!
If the individual PCB has any dimension less than 2"we recommend that such PCBs should be arrayed in a suitable array of size <= 7 x 12 to optimize assembly cost and time.
If each PCB dimension is > 2" but overall the PCB is substantially smaller than 7 x 12 and the quantity is high (say 100 or more), we recommend that boards should be arrayed.
If there are SMT components near the edge of PCB, where the clearance to the edge is less than 0.025", then we recommend that PCBs be arrayed in a suitable array format to avoid NRE/Assembly fixture costs.

How many boards do you want a quote for?
(you can enter 4 different quantities
up to 50 pieces)
Desired Board Quantity
The number of PCBs you would like us to assemble. (This Assembly Quoting program only quotes quantities up to 50 PCBs. Please contact us for quantities more than 50 PCBs.)
Do you want Lead-free assembly?
Yes
No
Does your PCB have standard thickness (0.062" with +/- 10% tolerance)?
Yes
No
Are all your SMT components at least 0.025" away from the edge of the PCB?
Yes
No
Total Number of
Different
Components
(Note: This is the number of different part numbers used on your PCB assembly. For example, if you send us a box with all of the parts, how many different bags will there be
Another way to answer this question is: How many line items are there on your Bill of Materials (BOM))
Total Number of Different Components
This is the number of different part numbers used on your PCB assembly. In other words, if you send us a box with all of the parts, how many different bags will there be? For example, a 10k resistor, a 5k resistor and a 1k resistor would be considered 3 Manufacturer part #s and a 15k resistor used at 5 different locations, R1, R6, R11, R14 and R15, would be considered as one Manufacturer part #.
Total Number of Components to be assembled per board
Do you have SMT devices on both sides of your board?
Yes
No
Number of Through Hole Components Per Board
Number of SMT Components Per Board
Number of SMT Components Per Board
if there are no SMT components on the board then it is through hole assembly job.
How many through-hole components do you have (per board) that have more than 50 pins each
Do you have any Press fit connecters on the board?
Do you have any Press fit connecters on the board?
Press fit connectors are through hole connectors that do not require soldering but are press fitted into PCB. They require special Press Fit Fixtures to avoid damage to PCB, its inner layers, traces etc. They should be avoided as far as possible in initial assemblies unless the fixtures cost is of no concern.

SMT Components analysis details
Number of BGA Devices Per Board
Number of BGA Devices Per Board
BGA devices could be ICs and also some special connectors of high density.
Number of QFN or DFN or LCC Devices per board
Number of QFN or DFN or LCC Devices per board
QFN = QUAD Flat Leadless devices.
DFN = Dual Flat Leadless devices.
LCC = Lead less Chip Carrier devices.
All these devices have pads underneath the devices - the pads do not come out as leads outside the device.
Number of 0201 size discrete components per board
Number of 0201 size discrete components per board
0201 size capacitors, resistors, inductors, etc need special care in handling and assembly.
Number of Fine Pitch ICs per board
Number of Fine Pitch ICs per board
Fine pitch devices are multi lead devices (other than BGA or QFN) which have more than 3 leads and whose leads pitch <= 0.5 mm (or 0.020 inch).
How many SMT Connectors (Non-BGA) have more than 50 pins each?
